There is no doubt one will enjoy their first time or their nth time in New York , from the yellow taxi cabs to the theatre, the food, the shopping and just all the multitude sights you can digest. Every trip will make you hungry for the next one even before you even left the city.

  • Statue of Liberty

Everyone is familiar with the Statue of Liberty, but not everyone has seen it up close or has ever been there. This historical piece was designed by a French sculptor named Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi. The statue’s face was molded after his mother’s face and the body as told was after a prostitutes frame.

Lady Liberty as it is popularly called has seven spikes on her crown representing the Seven Seas which liberty should be spread. The torch on her right hand symbolizes Enlightenment, and the tablet on her left hand has the Declaration of Independence written on it.

The statue in addition with its pedestal measures a total of 305 feet. Inside the statue is a staircase which has 354 steps that can take you all the way up to the crown for that fantastic view of New York City. You can reach the Statue of Liberty through a boat ride and it is a must to get advance reservation on tickets as to not have problems once you get there.

  • Empire State Building

Being the Eighth Wonder of the World, not just looked at as any ordinary building, the Empire State Building represents a lot of things for New Yorkers. As said, “It represents the ambition of humans to build towers that reach for the skies”

Having it seen in a couple of movies, the Empire State Building is the epitome of New York symbolism.

  • Times Square

the busiest square in New York, Times Square is popular for its Broadway shows, theaters, cinemas, colorful and lighted large billboards and signage and the crowds of people there is.

  • Central Park

Being it the first city park in the united states, its design has been made exemplar for other city parks all over the world. Thinking that New York bustling with all the busyness and chaotic schedules of everyone having Central Park in the center of Manhattan reminds New Yorkers to take time and enjoy nature. This 843 acres park includes theaters, ice rinks, sports areas for tennis, baseball, and ice skating. They also have several lakes, fountains and other known facilities like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Central Park Zoo.

  • Brooklyn Bridge

Definitely one of the most brilliant landmarks in New York, this bridge connects Manhattan with Brooklyn. Known as the world’s largest suspension bridge, it stretches the East river for about 1.8 kilometers, and the distance between the two large towers is 486 meters.

The known Footpath, which is an elevated pedestrian lane, allows people to cross the river without the worry of the rush of traffic below, plus the addition view of the Manhattan skyline is surely priceless.

  • Chrysler Building

Known as one of New York’s most beautiful towers, interior and exterior fixtures of the Chrysler building depicts the Art Deco design making it magnificent to look at. It has been one of the towers to race being the world’s tallest buildings until 1974 when the Sears Tower in Chicago won it over.

  • Rockefeller Center

Once known as Radio City this was dabbed as the “city in the city” because of the compound of buildings that are connected to each other via an underground concourse called the Catacombs. This complex of buildings is incorporated in Fifth Avenue, New York city.

The observation deck on top of the GE building gives you the privilege of having the view of Central Park and the Empire State Building.

  • Grand Central Terminal

Having been used in several well known movies as well this train station just spells New York. The Main Concourse just awes with its magnificent design and architecture. This one was of the monumental gateways build in New York during the prime of railroad transportation.

  • Fifth Avenue

Is shopping your main mission? Then this is where you should be heading. The streets in Fifth Avenue strip carry the most famous shopping labels with a number of shopping stores to your liking. But not all of Fifth Avenue is all ode to shopping; Central Park Fifth Avenue caters to a more residential area with a few museums you can also visit. Aside from shopping, the Trump Tower and St. Patrick’s Cathedral are one of the additional sites along the area.

  • Metropolitan Museum of ArtNew York City skyline

Artsy fancy!  Carrying the most extensive and impressive art collections in the world, this museum should be part of your tour list. Over two million of art works for over a thousand of years, the metropolitan Museum of Art makes your visit definitely interesting.

With a large city as New York, you can actually expect to cram up only ten destinations. There are still other sights that you will definitely want to visit like the Madison Square, Chinatown, United Nations Headquarters, Soho and even Wall Street.
