What to See in Sydney
There are tons of amazing buildings, museums, natural wonders and historical sites to see in Sydney, Australia. Possibly the most famous and iconic building in Australia is the Sydney Opera House. A late modern architectural masterpiece, the house was completed in 1973 by Jorn Utzon of Denmark and is a source of major pride for Australians, especially those living in Sydney. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and possibly the image that is most commonly associated with Australia. While staying in Sydney, you can take a tour of the opera house to learn about its structure and history. Another iconic site in Sydney is Harbour Bridge. The Harbour Bridge is nicknamed ìThe Coathangerî because of its unique arch-based design. Built and designed by Dorman Long and Co, Ltd of Northern England, the bridge opened in 1932. To this day it is the longest wide-span bridge in the world. You can see the bridge from a ferry if you choose to take a boat ride through the harbor or admire it from the shore, but the best way to experience the bridge is by climbing it. There are many different bridge climbs available so that you can appreciate being on the peak of the bridge, regardless of your personal level of fitness or fear of heights.

The Queen Victoria Building, or QVB as it is more commonly known, is another iconic Sydney landmark. It has a lovely architectural structure and design. The QVB was originally designed as a shopping centre, but now contains many different interior displays, including many memorials and historical images about Australiaís history and the life of Queen Victoria. Another excellent iconic space to visit is Sydney Tower. Completed in 1972, Sydney Tower is ranked as one of the most stable structures in the world, able to withstand earthquakes and high winds. On the tower, you can visit the observation deck and the Oz trek, as well as the towerís skywalk, to see some of the best views in Sydney.
