On most Gap Adventures trips you will be travelling with an average of 12 like-minded people from all over the world. Travelling in a small group allows for flexible itinerary changes and blending into local communities with ease.

Local Transportation
Getting from one place to another is all part of the fun of travelling. By taking local transportation and opting away from the private coach bus you gain a greater appreciation for the local culture with greater opportunities for local interaction. We try to mix it up to give you the best cross section of culture, one day you might find yourself jumping on the back of a motorbike taxi in the chaotic streets of Hanoi or the next you could be sitting in an air conditioned off road vehicle driving along the coast.
Unique Accommodation
For the most part, you will spend your nights sleeping in a hotel bed, but occasionally you will have the opportunity to spend the night under the stars, camping at high altitude, at a home stay in the Amazon or even sailing between islands. Every accommodation is different depending on the country, but each stay will reflect the local flavour. Rooms are based on a twin-share style of accommodation, which means that we will match you up with a roommate of the same sex. We do not punish our passengers for travelling alone by charging a single supplement fee.
Your Tour Leaders
All of our group trips are led by either one of our tour leaders, a Gap Adventures representative, or an expedition team. Your leader will take care of the day-to-day things that you would normally take care of on your own such as accommodation and transportation as well as provide a wealth of knowledge about the areas visited on your tour. They will provide information on the places you are going to, make suggestions for things to do and see, and recommend great local eating venues. All of our leaders are supported by our local offices around the world making your time in a foreign country the best possible experience.
