If you are visiting China, the Great Wall of China probably tops your list of must see attractions. The Great Wall of China is thousands of kilometers in length and crosses many of China’s districts and it is therefore accessible from more than one part. The different parts of the Great Wall of China are in different conditions, while some parts are quite excellent, others are practically ruined. Also, though we see the wall as one, different parts of the wall of China have their own admission fee. A single admission fee does not entitle one to tour the entire wall of China.

There are many interesting facts regarding the wall of China which one can explore during their visit for instance it is not actually one single wall but walls built by four different emperors during different periods of history. The popular sites for tourists include Juyongguan and Badaling which are close to the capital city of Beijing. Since they are most accessible, they are also the most crowded sites on the Great Wall of China. If you would like to give the crowds a miss, then head towards Mutianyu which is a little distance from Badaling but is a lot greener and a lot less crowded. There is just one bus to Mutianyu therefore one usually has to take a taxi to the site.

If you are going on a family trip to Hong Kong, you just cannot miss the Hong Kong Disneyland. The Disneyland is a child’s ultimate dream and a great place to spend some fun family time. Family vacation travel deals to Hong Kong often include a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland as a part of their package. However if you are planning your own trip then a visit to the Hong Kong Disneyland must have at least an entire day.

One day tickets are available at Hong Kong Disneyland which can be purchased online as well as at the main entrance of the Disneyland. One day tickets are usually of two types, standard and designated day tickets. The price of both these type of tickets are same but while standard tickets are available every day except on designated days, designated day tickets as the name suggests are valid on that particular day. The Hong Kong Disneyland site has a calendar showing standard and designated days six months in advance therefore one must carefully plan out their itinerary before booking tickets for Disney land.

If one day is not enough for you to explore all the magical wonders of Disneyland, then two day tickets are also available. The two day tickets can be used for two days within a seven day period.

Hong Kong is one of the most popular tourist destinations of China. Spring is the best time to visit Hong Kong which is from March to May; the temperature during spring is comfortable but humid. However, those who want a pleasant warm and dry weather should visit between October and December. Those who want to visit Hong Kong for its festivals should between February and April. Â Hong Kong is an excellent place for a family vacation as children love the Disney World at Hong Kong and both men and women can find great travel deals in the city.

One of the first things that must find a place in your itinerary is to visit the Peak Tower. The Peak Tower gives a fabulous view of the Hong Kong Island and there are some excellent shops as well as restaurants at Peak Tower. One can also enjoy a laser show at 8 o’clock every night at peak tower. The Peak Tower used to be a very exclusive neighborhood reserved for the richest people of the area.

Those who like to try their luck must visit Hong Kong between September to June in various two regions of Hong Kong, Shatin and Happy Valley. Happy Valley is a more impressive location and ambience and live races usually take place on Wednesday nights. It is an interesting experience even if one doesn’t bet, it is fun to watch the very enthusiastic crowd and drink draft beer at the adjoining beer garden.

The local life in Hong Kong is of great interest to those interested in culture and the best way to do it is to walk and observe the local people live their daily lives. One can find a large number of heritage sites in Hong Kong like the Ping Shan heritage trail which passes through some very interesting and important ancient heritage sights, including temples and bazaars. Lantau can provide some interesting sightings as well like the stilt houses of Tai O, Tien Tan Buddha statue and Po Lin Monastery. One must also pay a visit to the Kowloon walled city park in Kowloon. Holiday packages of Hong Kong often include one or more of these destinations as it gives one an idea of the city’s heritage.

To get an overview of Hong Kong’s history and past one can visit its many museums which are major travel attractions for tourists. The Hong Kong Museum of History in Kowloon is an excellent starting point to know about Hong Kong’s history. There are other museums in Kowloon as well like Dialogue in the Dark and Hong Kong Museum of Art. Those interested in Chinese culture must pay a visit to Hong Kong Heritage Museum in New Territories.

Over the past few decades, skiing has become a hugely popular pastime with people all over the world. Whether they are competitive professionals or they just want to have a bit of fun, skiing is a great way for people to get active. And thanks to the many late ski deals that are available, people all across the globe can get easy access to the slopes. Of course the world is filled with places which are perfect for a spot of skiing – Switzerland and Canada are obvious choices – but there are also great ski spots in other countries. Take China, for example. It’s not necessarily known for its huge ski slopes, rather it is steeped in history and has a vibrant lively culture, but there are actually plenty of great places to go skiing in China.

Let’s take a look at just a few of the very best places in China to get out there and do some skiing.

Huaibei Ski Resort, near Beijing

Located about 70 kilometres outside of Beijing, Huaibei Ski Resort is widely know as being the largest resort that’s easily accessible from the capital. It has something to offer skiers of all levels, even if they’ve never taken to the piste. Skiing season at Huaibei is between December and March and has six different trails for skiers to try out. This one is definitely worth a visit, and if you’re a tourist in China it has a very good location, too. It takes roughly an hour to get to the resort by car from the centre of Beijing, and will cost around $50 (US) per day to ski. There are plenty of ski lifts to keep your legs well looked after, too!

Wanlong Ski Resort, Hebei Province

This well known resort is very popular amongst locals, which really says something about its quality. It’s located around four hours outside of Beijing, so it’s quite well located (in the grand scheme of things). The Wanlong Ski Resort is proud to boast that it resides on China’s largest ski mountain, offering all skiers something they’ll love. In peak seasons the resort can see up to 3000 visitors per weekend, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of wide open space for you to enjoy the type of ski you want. The Wanlong resort also features a cabin right at the top of the mountain which gives skiers a warm retreat from the cold and offers a warm cosy atmosphere. Wanlong comes highly recommended to all China-based skiers!

Yabuli Ski Resort, Heilongjiang Province

Whilst the Huaibei above is the largest resort you can easily get to from Beijing, the Yabuli Ski Resort is the ‘big daddy’ of all resorts in China. Its high season is between December and April, and it’s very popular amongst locals and tourists like. One thing worth noting about the Yabuli resort is that it has only one ski lift, making it a little difficult to get to the intermediate and advanced pistes. Having said this, Yabuli have said that they plan to install more ski lifts as soon as they can. Regardless of the slight accessibility issues, you should have a fine time at Yabuli. There are plenty of cosy hotels nearby which can serve as a great ‘base camp’ for skiers looking for a few days of fun in the Chinese snow.

It may not be widely credited as such, but China has a thriving ski scene, so if you like to slip and slide down a mountainside, it’s the perfect location for you. And if you already live in China, all the better. Get out there as soon as the season’s right and you’ll be having the ski experience of your life in no time!

Hong Kong, with all its festivals and grandeur, is now being considered as a premier family tourist destination in Asia. This city, once a mere collection of fishing villages, now offers lots of shopping and dining options and fantastic entertainment to its visitors. Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and enjoys a unique “One Country, Two Systems” principle that allows them to have autonomy, independent judiciary, capitalist system, freedom of speech and free trade.

Hong Kong has a sub-tropical climate with hot, humid summers and cool, dry winters. The best time to visit Hong Kong are the autumn and spring. The tourists, however, prefer to visit this place nearly all around the year. There is a unique blend of eastern and western cultures in Hong Kong. This amalgamation of different cultures along with the varied attractions and picaresque countryside helped Hong Kong to grow the reputation of being one of Asia’s finest tourist destinations. Some of the must visit places in Hong Kong are:

Aberdeen

Aberdeen, a beautiful waterfront harbor resort, is the largest satellite town of Hong Kong. The tourists will find a splendid blend of modernity and traditional lifestyle here. The town is famous for its seafood and the magnificent floating restaurants; ‘Tai Bak Seafood Boat’ and ‘Jumbo Floating Restaurant’. These restaurants are anchored in harbor and the tourists need to take a free shuttle to visit them. The culinary delights and the mouth-watering sea foods are simply a treat to the foodies.

Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay is home to a large number of boutiques, departmental stores, entertainment spots and other high-end shops. Two of the most prominent shopping spots here are the Times Square and the Windsor House. Camera shops and other electronic gadgets showrooms are abound in this area.

Disneyland

The Hong Kong Disneyland is the first ever theme park in China. This Disneyland is a little different from the rest that are spread across the globe. The Hong Kong Disneyland is built in the backdrop of natural lush green mountains and fantastic landscape. This theme park has various themed lands like Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Main Street U.S.A.

Lantau Island

Lantau Island is the largest peripheral island in Hong Kong located at the historic Pearl River. This island was a sleepy fishing village of yesteryears and now being developed as a major tourist destination. The island hosts a number of tourist destinations like Disneyland, Po Lin Monastery Tai O and Tung Chung Fort.

Ocean Park

Ocean Park is one of the largest ocenarium in the world. The tourists here can take underwater adventures and meet hundreds of oceanic creatures face to face. The two sections of this beautiful theme park spread over 160 acres in South Hong Kong are bridged with a cable car link.

Po Lin Monastery

“Po Lin” or the “Precious Lotus” Monastery of Hong Kong is one of the most famous Buddhist monasteries in the world. There is colossal copper idol of Buddha known as the “Tian Tan Buddha” or “Sakyamuni” in this monastery. It is considered as the tallest outdoor statue of Buddha in the world.

Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak is the most suitable place to enjoy the view of Hong Kong. Each year, approximately six million visitors come to experience the view of Hong Kong from here as it looks like glowing pearl in the sea at night. There is a “Ripley’s Believe It or Not” gallery and a branch of world famous Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum on this Peak Tower of Victoria Peak.

Hong Kong is an ever-dynamic and lively metropolis with one of world’s most recognizable skylines. The city has a stimulating atmosphere that is quite impossible to explain in speech – a person has to see it, smell it and feel it. With fabulous and plentiful options for shopping and dining, the ever-changing landscape of Hong Kong is a beacon of modernity. The vibrant city of Hong Kong is a major gateway to China. The city is considered as a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The rights and freedoms of people in Hong Kong are based on the impartial rule of law and an independent judiciary. After its handover from Britain to China in 1997, this entrepreneurial, irrepressible and singular trading city is booming again. But along with the beautiful tourist spots and glittering shopping malls; there is plenty of tradition and history to discover too, in its festivals, museums and temples.

Best Time to Visit: Hong Kong has a sub-tropical climate, being temperate for nearly half the year, with cool, dry winters and hot, humid summers. The city has four distinguishable seasons. The average Hong Kong temperature is 23°C (73.4F). Spring (March – May) tends to be warm and humid, accompanied by fog and drizzle. In summer (May-September), frequent thunderstorms are the norm. Travelers need a woolen sweater and heavy coat in Hong Kong’s dry and cool winter. The peak travel season in Hong Kong is autumn (October – December). Typhoon season in Hong Kong is possible in September. It’s best to avoid Hong Kong tour during this time of the year.

Tourist Spots in Hong Kong: Hong Kong is a city of teeming streets and empty wilderness, dazzling modernity and traditional observances. Brash, buccaneering and westernized, yet conservatively minded and Chinese to its core, the city surprises, delights and confounds with its cheerful contradictions and energetic inconsistency. Some of the world famous tourist spots in Hong Kong are:

The Peak: The Peak is the highest point on the island, playing host to more than 6 million visitors each year. Not only is the view one of the most spectacular cityscapes in the world, it’s also a good way to put Hong Kong and its layout into perspective. Looking down from The Peak you’ll be amazed by the spectacular view of the surrounding city skyline, the world-famous Victoria Harbor and Kowloon, towering skyscrapers and peaceful green hillsides. It features the city’s oldest and most reliable mode of public transport, The Peak Tram. It began operating in 1888 and is a funicular railway that carves a steep 373-metre swathe up the lush mountainside. A scenic ride up from the city centre to The Peak takes only 7 minutes.

Victoria Harbor: Victoria Harbor is one of Hong Kong’s greatest assets, a jewel that people marvel at, regardless to how many times they visit the city. People come from all over the world to see and admire it. As the main harbor of Hong Kong, tourist will find clean sea, blue sky, beautiful mountains and charming natural scenes here. Located between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula, the Victoria harbor is wide and the water is deep, an ideal natural condition for adventure lovers. The night scene of Victoria Harbor is one of the most charming experiences in the world and the best viewing spot is the narrowest point of Victoria Harbor.

Aberdeen: Aberdeen was formerly a fishing village. There are quite a few commercial towers and factories built in this district in recent years. But the area still maintains the characteristics of a traditional fishing village.

Repulse Bay: The beach in Repulse Bay is long and broad with clean water, fine sand, calm tide and gentle wave. On the beach there is a park built in traditional Chinese style, the “Zhenhai Building Park”. This park contains a pair of large statues of two goddesses, Kwun Yum and Tin Hau, Bridge of Longevity and some other delights
