History
Opened in 1976, with an area of 1,200,000 square yard, this was the first family park in South Korea. Presently, it is being operated and maintained by the Samsung group. Originally known as “Yongin Jayeon Nongwon”, the company changed its name to Everland to make it recognizable to international travelers. In November 2001, it qualified in the hall of fame as a grand prize winner for customer satisfaction.

Back in 2007, the park is said to have been visited by 8.6 million visitors and was ranked tenth in the world pertaining to the number of footfalls it had witnessed. Since then, there was no looking back for the park. Everland made alliance with Busch gardens of USA in 1990. It was featured in the magazine of amusement business of America as one of the six major amusement parks in the world. Between 2000 and 2009, Everland was awarded excellence in various fields of amusements like best award in leisure area. It also won several digital media awards and several prizes in culture and leisure sports. It goes without saying that the popularity of the park grew manifold till 2009 when the number of visitors crossed the 100 million mark.

Amusements and Themes
Everland is divided into five theme areas: European adventure, American adventure, Magic land, Zoo topia and roller coasters, in addition to the Global fair. The park has 40 heart –pounding rides and ‘must-see’ attractions, in addition to the “Safari World “and the“ Herbivore Safari”, which were opened in 2010.

In the American Adventure, one can see displays of American history. However, it is not just informative, but adventurous too with thrilling rides and the rodeos, roller coasters. Live band performance by the double Rock Spin band is one of the main attractions here, which draws immense crowd.
The Magic Land forms the kids’ attraction, which is especially known for the Aesop’s Village, depicting characters and stories from the well-known Aesop’s Fables. Spectacular view of the whole park can be seen from Ferris wheel, which is again a must-see for the park visitors.

The European Adventure zone brings European architecture to the forefront as the restaurants and the buildings are designed that way. Shoot a ghost at the Mystery Mansion or hop into the- T Express –which is one of the oldest wooden roller coaster rides and the steepest in the world.

Zoo-Topia is the animal-themed portion of the park where safari bus rides and animal rides are available. In fact, the zoo struck headlines as the elephants here were claimed to have imitating Korean words.

Global fair brings the international flavor with castles replicas from France, the Middle East, India, Russia and Spain. Visually captivating, these castles bring global culture together.
