A relaxing vacation on the beach or a shopping spree in a foreign land is cliché of any vacation with family and friends. Little do we think about exploring the unexplored and tasting the thrill that we have been longing for in our young age. Scotland offers you the best and the unbeatable when it comes to cheap holiday packages. Cheap flights to the country are easily available; all you have to do is consult your nearest travel agent who could help you out with the best vacation travel deals.

Top Things to do in Scotland

If you are in Scotland, there is hardly any chance of getting bored. There is so much to do for everyone. While the castles in Scotland can bring back history alive, retelling the tales of the kings and the knights, their lifestyle and the grandeur of the era, the gardens of Scotland bring home a pleasant feeling with their beautiful and varied flowers. Some of the most visited tourist destinations in Scotland include:
• Stirling Castle
• Edinburgh Castle
• Eilean Donan Castle
• Glamis Castle
• Blair Castle
• Culzean Castle
• Fyvie Castle
• Cawdor Castle
These castles and more are not just a part of the chapters of history, but are representative of the cultural heritage of the yonder years as they exhibit varied architecture of the medieval ages. Contouring the landscape of Scotland, these castles enhance the beauty and the grandeur of the country.

BookIt SAVES You 50% or MORE on Hotels

Scotland Gardens

If you haven’t been to the gardens in Scotland, you have missed out on a great part of the culture of the country. While all the castles are accompanied by some of the most beautiful gardens, rich in varieties of flowers, the sheer interest and enthusiasm of the people in their own private gardens reflect the fact that it’s a hobby that was not only cultivated by the kings and the queens, but is also an active interest for the people of Scotland. Some of the most famous gardens that must be visited include:
• Parkhead Gardens
• Castle Kennedy and Lochinch Gardens
• Edzell Castle and Garden
• Drummond Castle Gardens
• Hirsel Garden

Scotland Activities

Skiing: Skiing at the Cairngorms mountains, is something that adventure lovers would not miss at any cost. Offering some of the best black slopes for experienced skiers and some lighter ones for the amateurs, the mountain is a haven for sports lovers during the winter.

Walking: If you like something peaceful and light, you could go for a walk or trekking around the country side. A country stroll or a breezy country walk could refresh your mind, having a rejuvenating effect.

Gourmet’s Delight

Tunnocks Chocolate Factory is a gourmet’s delight where you can taste, explore and observe the way chocolate is made. From cakes to cookies, biscuits to bakery, the chocolate factory would not leave you disappointed. Similarly Irn Blu factory, which produces the beverage Irn Bru (the single entity that outsells Coca Cola and Pepsi in their homeland), can be visited. You can be ensured of a yummy delight at the end of each of the tour.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and is the cultural capital of the country. It is an extremely popular city amongst tourists from around the world. Its cultural richness has been recognized by UNESCO and it is one of the UNESCO Creative Cities. Vacation travel deals in Glasgow usually provide a pretty comprehensive city tour but if you want to visit the city on your own just keep in mind that the city can be quite distinctly divided into two – the City Centre and west end. While City Centre is the commercial hub, the main entertainment and shopping center of the city, the West End on the other hand contains many Bohemian cafes, bars, restaurants, the Kelvingrove Museum and the University of Glasgow.

There is plenty to experience in Glasgow like museums, art galleries, theatres, cinema and football. The large variety of Glasgow allows it to cater to almost every taste. Glasgow can be quite an amazing gastronomic experience as well. One can find Indian dishes in Glasgow. One can always stay in luxury but if you cannot afford luxury, you can also opt for a camping ground at Stockwell Street, youth hostel or cheap budget hotels. One can also get campus accommodation at the University; University campus rooms are basically meant for students but are let out by the university during vacations.

Whilst it’s comparatively on most of our doorstops Scotland is often overlooked by many of us when planning our next holiday. Whilst the weather might be off putting for some Scotland really is an incredible place to visit with a whole host of sights and must sees. You can fly or catch a train to Scotland but the best option is of course to drive as you can then drive around and see more of the country. Before you go look at extending your travel insurance for multiple trips, as you will probably want to head back there again later in the year. Be sure to pack warm clothes even if it’s the summer as the weather is temperamental to say the least.

The highlight of Scotland has to be Edinburgh with its impressive castle fantastic culture and rich history. Medieval old town and Georgian new town are two of the best areas to wander and the city boasts fantastic dining and amazing shopping. When it comes to New Year few places can beat Edinburgh with its stunning firework display and incredible.

Heading further north we reach the Moray Firth where you can see seals and dolphins frolicking in the waves as well as the impressive North Sea oil rigs under construction. This might seem like an odd highlight but they are incredibly impressive and well worth a visit. Near here we can find the first of many beautiful and impressive lochs. Loch Ness is of course the most popular of all the lochs and it is stunningly beautiful. The Loch Ness centre is great if you have kids and there are plenty of hotels and camping grounds in the area so it’s a good place to stay. From here you can head to the huge Loch Lomond and if you fancy it taking some time sailing or canoeing the loch is well worth the time.

If you have the time then we’d suggest a trip to John O’Groats and the charming town of Thurso. The most northerly point in Britain is well worth visiting at least once in your life for the beautiful view and exposure. From Thurso you can catch a ferry to the Orkney Islands which have a rich Nordic history and are one of the best places to watch sea birds in the country. Upon arriving back we would heartily recommend driving along the north western coast roads all the way down to the Isle of Skye. The north western coastal road is awe inspiring, words can barely do it justice, magnificent towering mountains, large uninhabited lochs and beautiful picturesque coastal towns are the highlights of the journey. When you reach Skye we would recommended staying for a few days an enjoying the beautiful island with its small fishing towns and fantastic hiking opportunities. Highlights of the island include Old Man of Storr and the staggering cliffs of the Quirang, also be sure to visit the Talisker distillery and enjoy a wee dram or two of some fantastic single malt whisky.

From here we head to the mountain of Ben Nevis near fort William. Ben Nevis is the largest mountain in the UK rising 1,344 m above the sea. Scaling this colossal mountain is well worth the effort but requires high physical fitness and a full day. The old pony trail is the most common route up to the summit where you can experience the ruins of the old observation towers as well as the most incredible views in the UK. Around Fort William you can enjoy a whole host of outdoor activities from canoeing to white water rafting. Finally in the winter Ben Nevis offers the finest skiing in the UK. If you fancy trying out your skiing in the UK then check the forecasts and current snow levels before you go as it is not always possible to guarantee snowfall.

Mum’s work hard and deserve to be treated well so what better way to show her you care than planning a cute and restful holiday cottage.

Holiday cottages can provide a solution to easing the stress of everyday life and working traumas.  Located in the Countryside they provide a perfect base for a peaceful get away. Think of the crisp mornings, frosty landscapes and picturesque scenery.  Take walks around the local hot spots, visit quaint markets or museums. You can either dine out at the local restaurants or cook an alacar’te meal and sit by the cosy fire.

This kind of holiday proves to be a cheaper alternative than a city break as you can appreciate the scenery and step away from the city shops and temptation.
Not all holiday cottages are the same so ensure you spend time looking for one to fit your needs: some cottages don’t allow pets or children, so if you have either, check this out first.

Traditional cottages will contain special features like wood burning fires and old oak beams. Cottage that overlook spectacular views will always be snapped up first, so find somewhere suitable as early as possible if you have any particular requirements or requests.

As night sets in, you can spend your night however you like it all over town.

3rd day: In fairness, Inverness! Breakfast as usual, and then off to Inverness we go. En route you will be passing by the famous golf course at the Firth of Forth to St. Andrews, then through Dundee, Perth and Pitlochry. As you arrive in Inverness, you immediately get checked in with the specified hotel accommodations.

4th day: To the Highlands and the Isle of Skye alright! This is one of the most visited places in Scotland and having it on your tour is not surprising. You will be going to Loch Ness, ready yourself, this may be the moment you can spot their most famous mythical creature the lochness monster Nessie. Visit a string of castles before you get to the Isle of Skye and admire the natural beauty it offers.

5th day: Glasgow, we go! Before reaching Glasgow, you will be driving through Fort William, where you can view the highest mountain in Britain which is the Ben Nevis. Arriving Glasgow, new accommodations will be made ready for you.

6th day: Glasgow and Lowlands Hurrah! Sightseeing tours around Glasgow are ready for you after breakfast. Getting to visit St. Mungo’s Cathedral and viewing Clydeside, the City Chambers and George Square, after a few more scenic and historical spots, head back to Glasgow to freshen up with the final night with farewell dinner with your tour operator.

7th day: Glasgow, goodbye. Last day is such sweet sorrow, packed and ready to go you will then leave Glasgow to the airport for your separate flights back home.

Nothing beats all those days of adventure all packed in a tour that has everything planned for. Trafalgar Tours – 7 Day Best of Scotland, Edinburgh to Glasgow , should be one of the itineraries that should be included in your next planned vacation. Think about all those days wherein you can see and feel what Scotland is all about. Enjoy this trip with us and for sure you won’t ask for anything else, but a repeat!

Do you want to feel the wind in your face, the saltiness of the sea, the crash of the waves and the lifestyle of a typical fishing village? You would think that as much as Scotland is modern and citified, there are still some areas that can offer tours to travelers, tourists and adventurers alike of the town of St. Andrews. As you have seen on photos or artworks about the picturesque fishing villages in the area and the known coastline of Fife, you will be able to get to tour these so called places in the span of one day. I know, probably a teaser, but if you tour with us, surely you will get your money’s worth and would make you wanting and coming back for more.

This activity may seem very short for you, but trust us when we say that you will have one day that is full and exciting, experience Scotland in a different way with a scheduled one day itinerary with your own tour guide and the comforts of your private mini bus.
You may think there is nothing to enjoy with a traditional fishing village, this might come out as a surprise to you then since not only do you get tour these said areas, but you get a tour around the scenic town of St. Andrews which is known for their love of the sport, golf. You will be amazed with their magnificent golf courses and the top UK universities, castle and cathedral.

We leave early from Edinburgh then lets us travel north bound to pass through one of the most renowned man made engineered landmarks the Forth Rail Bridge. The Kingdom of Fife is next in the agenda, be in awe with the very picturesque coastline that is dotted with villages that we bet you see normally on postcards or artworks only. You get the chance to stop by a traditional fishing village of Anstruther, feel like you have traveled back in time walking along their cobbled streets and quaint houses, through small alleyways and of course take a breather along their seafront to the harbor.

If you’re still in that world of Fife, then we must automatically bring you to the medieval ages as we get through the town of St. Andrews. The paradise for golf lovers, this town is home to the oldest golf course that was founded in 1754, also home to the University of Scotland, aging 600 years old just third from Cambridge and oxford respectively. Of course, Scotland will always be known for their magnificent castles, the Falkland Palace is one that will enthrall you with years of history and stories.

As we almost end our tour, we hope that you are silently planning on doing it again, or choosing another place that will further intrigue and inform you about all the beauty of Scotland. St Andrews and the Fishing Villages of Fife – Tour from Edinburgh is only one of the many tours that you, your family and friends can enjoy when in Scotland. What are you waiting for, plan on this and let’s get going!

We all know how large the area of Scotland is, and it will be so humorous if we would let you believe that you can have everything in just one day. You could if you had magical powers, but since we are ordinary tourists, let’s take it the normal way and visit the best spots we could in almost twenty four hours. If you ask me, this way is more exciting, cramming everything you want to see in just a short period of time. Yes you may not get to see everything but it results to whetting your travel appetite and want it some more. Thus, you plan again, visit again, and do it all over again and we doubt you’ll ever get enough of the natural attractions you can get with the best of Scotland.

Okay, so now what can we cram in just one day? Well in general, there are the Highland Lochs, Glens and the most favored by most the Whiskey tasting. Scotland is basically known for its wild open spaces, majestic mountains, green filled glens, sparkling mysterious lochs and all the history within its sphere, just to give you an overview of what you will be expecting in this one day affair with Scotland, let’s take a run through with the day’s events.

Take yourself back to the past as this Scotland tour will take you to a journey to the central Highlands. Be closer to nature as you get to be part of the changing landscapes and green lush scenery. Get the chance to get the glimpse of the Celtic atmosphere with the farmlands, lowlands, hills and mountains, falls and even forests surrounding the area.

Leaving early from Edinburgh in a very posh minibus with your own tour guide, you will be traveling up north passing through one of Scotland’s most known engineering wonders the Forth Rail bridge. Continue on as you get to see the Kingdom of Fife and Loch Leven Castle. Feel the medieval period as you pass through Perth then all the way to the Scottish Highlands. See as the change in scenery happens before your eyes and we shall not miss the old Cathedral town. Feel like you are transported inside a fairytale book or movie as you drive through the Hermitage and see the surrounding woodlands, you can even take a walk around and even lose yourself at the Black Linn Falls. Oh wait, not literally get lost, but you do know what we mean, right? ☺

Insanely, that itinerary was just half of the day, after lunch let’s continue on through the mountains of Highland Perthshire and even get a view of the mountains of Glencoe. After some extra sights that you will pass by, here comes the moment that you should never forget. You all know how popular Scottish whiskey is, so let’s not leave this day without sampling some. Stop at the Aberfeldy and Dewars Whisky distillery for a tasting of what the locals term as the “water of life.”

As evening sets in, this will be the time to say goodbye to the old charm of what Scotland is. Surely the Highland Lochs, Glens and Whisky- Day Tour from Edinburgh is one day tour that you should never miss and should share to other travelers who have plans of tasting Scotland even with just one day to spare.

Do you want to experience a different Scotland? Who won’t right? Getting tours for different kinds of tours in Scotland is easier now. There are a lot of agencies that can come up with a day tour or even a three day tour from Edinburgh and experience the country in a different light.

If you have three days to spare, why not enjoy a leisurely tour and experience Scotland’s finest scenic spots. The Highlands will definitely intrigue you with places you will be able to visit Glencoe, Loch Nes, Eilean Donan Castle and the Five Sisters of Kintail. We doubt if you would be tiring yourself with top of the line transportation that you will be using all over the place in all of those three days. And if you feel the need to take a rest, choose from a Bed and Breakfast guesthouse or hotel accommodations.

Let’s start your three day adventure right about now, you will be meeting up at a certain area in Edinburgh depending on the final itinerary you will be given in an air-conditioned minibus, a Mercedes as what is stated, you will definitely be traveling in luxury and style and don’t think this is just it.

From the meet up you will be traveling west getting a glimpse of Linlithgow Palace, Stirling Doune Castle and even see the setting for the Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Enjoy the views of the castles and the feel the history even if only in passing. Hungry now, let’s stop by for refreshments at Callander.

We continue on passing the Highlands, the tour heads north to admire the tantalizing scenic view in Loch Luibnaig. Pass through other scenic routes and enjoy the country and wild atmosphere of Breadalbane, Rannoch Moor and Glencoe where the historical massacre of the Clan Macdonald happened in the year 1692. After lunch, you will be touring more and more scenic views from Britain’s highest mountain Ben Nevis to the Great Glen. Almost there to the Isle of Skye, don’t forget to photograph the Five Sisters of Kintail which are the mountains that are said to be guarding the way to the Isle of Skye. Moments from now, you will be engulfed with the beautiful coastline that will lead you towards the island’s capital of Portree. Spend the night then with your choice of accommodations.

If you think you’ve had all there is to see, you need to rethink again since there are still more views that the Isle of Skye can offer you. At the start of your second day, you can actually explore the island on your own. Discover the secrets by yourself and even visit the most explored places like the Quiraing Mountain Pass, and Kilt Rock which is made of basalt columns. Be awed with how the waterfall cascades down the cliffs into the sea below, now that’s one natural gift from Mother Nature that you should definitely experience. Have lunch and explore some more, travel to Neist Point, Dunvegan Castle, Talskier Distillery and the Cuillin Hills. Each venue has something that you can experience and discover for yourself that would be something to end the fulfilling second day with.

The final day of touring usually is the most tiring yet the most dreaded one. For this tour, it actually just means that we have whetted your appetite for you to discover more of Scotland can give. Take steps back on the two days that you experience and as you head back to the mainland, imagine spotting the famed Nessie as you will be enjoying lunch at Loch Ness. It’s southbound after your meal and revel in the last hours you have left to enjoy more sights of the Grampian Mountains, Dalwhinnie and the Blair Castle before you head back to Edinburgh to put an end on this three day magical journey.

The Isle of Skye – 3 Day tour from Edinburgh is something that you should add to your next possible adventure travel.

One of the best sights to plan your next travel with surely would be Scotland. Visit the backdrop from countless of movies, books and artworks and feel transported back through time with all the historical and picturesque views of what the beautiful country has to offer. What if we tell you that you can visit three of the most known sights in the Scottish Highlands in just one day? Yes, we are not tricking you, if you’re in Edinburgh, there are a lot of day tours that you can choose from so that you can schedule and include it in your entire holiday itinerary.

8b6cc573fec148ad8d8eb07e96b4f3b3

We know that you are much intrigued about this one day tour, so why don’t we amaze you some more and whet your travel appetite with a sneak preview on the main spots that you would be visiting. Just to start off, does Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands ring any bell? If it does, and if you haven’t been here and forever had been wanting to, then this is definitely your chance now.

Be inspired of the natural beauty Scotland brings, from the panoramic landscape views of the Highlands, to the mysterious and historical insights of National Wallace Monument, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Pitlochry and Loch Leven just to name some of the well known tourist key points.

Let us start off the day tour meeting up at an agreed place in Edinburgh, this may possibly change depending on the final itinerary given to your by your local tour operator. At this early hour, you will be picked up by your private coach service that will aid you in the day’s activities.

From Edinburgh, as first stop we are bound for the Scottish Highlands. We head northwest from our origin and pass through the historical sights of Linlithgow Palace which is the actual birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Then we take in the view of the ‘Key to Scotland,’ as known of the Stirling Castle. If you’ve ever seen the movie Braveheart, yes that of Mel Gibson, you will be seeing the exact 220 feet tower of the National Wallace Movement, which remember the great hero of Scotland William Wallace.

These moments will be nature at it’s best, as we pass over the boundary fault line of the Highlands expect the scene to surprise you as you will be seeing the landscape dramatically change. From the vast plains to the lowlands, the green filled glens, the mountains and the lochs. Feel the wilderness in Rannoch Moor and drive down to the most famous valley of Glencoe, enter the Great Glen, then take a scene with Britain’s highest peak the Ben Nevis. Why not end this nature tripping with a boat cruise in Loch Ness and maybe if you’re lucky you would be the one to answer the mysteries of the popular mythological creature, we all know as Nessie.

All that in only half a day, in which after lunch you can continue on the trip to pass through Spean Bridge, Cairngorms National Park, Pitlochry, Perthshire, Loch Leven and finally the Forth Bridge which will eventually be the last stop till you get back to Edinburgh.

Nothing beats a fulfilling Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands – tour from Edinburgh even if it has been just for a day. As this is known as one of the most popular tours visitors take when in Scotland, this adventure should always be consistent in giving its guests what Scotland is all about. There is nothing more breathtaking than Scotland and the wilderness, the rich past and the entertaining present. Make this a top choice for your next travel adventure!

Scotland has always been a travel destination in everyone’s list. Aside from the famous Scottish whiskey, aren’t you even intrigued about the mysteries of the existence of old Nessy? Aside from the inexplicable appearance of the Loch Ness monster enjoy everything else of what Edinburgh has to offer. If you have three days free, you probably won’t visit everything there is but you can visit the places that you should! Never miss the Scotland highlights like Edinburgh, the Highlands and of course Loch Ness. Everything there is in Scotland is a mystery and an adventure everyday that you are there.

What to do in three days? Why not start it off with a city tour around Edinburgh, revel in the Old Town Quarter and the Scott Monument. Share with Scotland’s history and past as you get to tour around the Edinburgh castle. Have the chance to explore the royal apartments and feel like you are royalty yourself. Not much to ask, feel more like a king or queen as you get to see the multiple collection of the Scottish crown jewels.

Have you ever read of pocketbooks or seen movies that has included the Scottish highlands in their story. Feel like Mel Gibson in Braveheart as you wander and experience the old Scottish feel of what the wilderness and the nature of the Scottish highlands. If you are from a busy city, experiencing the glens and the valleys of this area will surely feel like you were back in time and the wind whispers you stories of the earth.

Scotland is full of secrets, rich history and yes even unexplainable creatures. You may know what it is since it’s been heard of never ending stories of Nessy. Have the chance to see for yourself if the Loch Ness monster is indeed real with a cruise in the lake. Keep an eye for that sea monster and you might have a new story to tell people back home.

Isn’t it just amazing how easy it is to get from one city to another. With the help of cars, airplanes and trains, if you’re starting your tour in London you can experience another way of traveling in the comforts of the railway train. See the other side of London, Edinburgh and all the sights in between in the comfort of your own cabin. Do not fret since these trains offer you complete amenities even a splendid dining experience. No more flight delays and bumps on the road leave London and travel for approximately five hours to Edinburgh. Don’t worry, arrive the city of Edinburgh in style and speed and never waste even a second as you start your journey here.

When you’re booking, experience this three day tour from London and explore Scotland like none of the ordinary. You won’t need to trouble yourself of fixing your schedules or itineraries, even finding comfortable accommodations, budget for meals or getting to book the right tickets on the train and for the scenic sights you would want to see. Enjoy a comfortable and relating holiday in Edinburgh with all the complete details made for you.

Personally, this is how to do a perfect vacation holiday. Trust your itinerary with someone reliable and you will surely get to enjoy every minute of those three days you have. Don’t worry, you even get to have your personal downtime to do what you want, when you want and where you want it. But I doubt it, with everything listed in the itinerary for Edinburgh, Loch Ness and the Highlands – 3 Day Tour from London surely it’s a tour you don’t even want to miss out.
