Located on a large peninsula at the extreme southern part of the eastern coast of the United States, Florida is blessed with a very hospitable semi-tropical climate that offers hot rainy summers, mild winters and near ideal spring and fall temperatures.

It is, however, subject to the threat of tropical storms and hurricanes during the late summer and fall. The Eastern Coast of Florida has some very nice beaches with moderately good surf on the Atlantic Ocean. Tourist spots have a way of springing up on the Florida roadside like wildflowers.

Best Time to Visit

The timing of your visit to Florida will determine how much you will have to spend and how much company you are going to have! January and February are usually the off peak months. So if you are looking for a less crowded theme park experience, this is an ideal time to travel. Autumn runs from September through November and is considered as the peak season when countless visitors flock to Florida.

Tourism industry is the major source of income in Florida. There are popular tourist spots spread all over the state. Florida continues to attract tourists from across the country and abroad for its picturesque beaches, scenic natural landscapes, theme parks, Hollywood studio and many more.

Florida Beaches

Florida Beaches have been featured in movies, books and countless travel guides. In Daytona Beach you can drive on the beach, in South Beach you’ll see celebrities and at Sebastian Inlet you can watch the worlds’ best professional surfers or catch a fat Snook for dinner. The beaches in Florida as are unique as you are. Florida’s Atlantic Coast Beaches are as diverse as Florida itself. In the north part of the state, the beaches are natural have many areas where hardly a condo or hotel can be found. The Panhandle of Florida is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. When you visit the Panhandle you’ll be amazed at how different it is from Florida’s East Coast, the water is a beautiful shade of clear green, thus the nickname ‘Emerald Coast’. Trendy South Florida is home to the beaches that Florida is known for. South Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach are winter playgrounds to millions of visitors world-wide.

Central Florida is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and some of Florida’s best beaches are within an hour’s drive of the Orlando attractions. Beaches in Central Florida are also known for surfing as they are completely exposed to the Atlantic storms.

St. Augustine

Saint Augustine, the oldest European established city in the United States, offers charm and romance on nearly every street corner. Located in Northeast Florida about 40 miles south of Jacksonville and 55 miles north of Daytona Beach, St. Augustine is a great place to spend a leisurely weekend or an action-packed week. Families will find many activities and attractions; couples can spark romance by taking a horse-drawn carriage ride, or just walking the quiet, picturesque streets at night. You can also enjoy the live entertainment shows featured in the fine restaurants and nightclubs at night.

SeaWorld’s Water Park

SeaWorld’s Water Park is located on 59 acres of land between the existing SeaWorld Park and the Williamsburg residential subdivision. It is about one-third the size of the original SeaWorld water theme park and about twice the size of Discovery Cove. It is a combination of animal experiences, water rides and slides, high-speed thrills and relaxing sandy beaches that appeal to all ages.

Florida Keys

The Florida Keys have become a popular destination among the tourists worldwide for a tropical vacation. The Florida Keys can be considered the American Caribbean and features all the same amenities as other island destinations such as world class sport fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, boating, sailing, kayaking and eco-tours. The first island you will encounter is Key Largo that offers some of the finest diving and snorkeling in the Florida Keys. Islamorada is the next island destination just south of Key Largo and is known for its world class sport fishing. Marathon is known as the heart of the Florida Keys and offers many relaxing vacation resorts. Big Pine Key and the Lower Florida Keys are popular for the boating facilities. Key West is also known as the Last Resort.
