Disney Florida Holidays in 2012 – Have You Missed the Boat?
If you’ve missed the boat, or rather the transatlantic flight, when it comes to a Florida holiday this year thanks to the rising cost of just about everything, it may be worth considering booking early for your 2013 holidays. Families, especially, find Florida to be the perfect holiday destination. However, transplanting your own little tribe of explorers even as far as the nearest Butlins, can be a costly adventure. Surprisingly, Disney Florida holidays in 2012 needn’t require funding from the Queen of Spain, well not anymore. The tourist industry in most countries has been hit relatively hard by the recession and discounts are available for canny shoppers. Booking for 2013, well in advance, can allow you to stretch the pounds and the air miles. Florida, is a fantastic location for holidays with kids and they grow up disturbingly quickly these days, which means it can be all too easy to put off those once of lifetime holidays off until they’ve left home for Uni!
Multiple Choices
Florida is also a great State to plan a multi centre holiday. The area around Orlando is the place to go with the kids – thanks to all the theme parks that it has to offer. It’s a great starting place for your trip and can be followed by an obligatory American Road Trip, down the coast to Miami. As the State is relatively small the road trip doesn’t take too long, but cruising the highways past sub-tropical palm-fringed beaches makes for some lasting memories.
Orlando and Florida’s Most Famous Themes
Starting off with the Walt Disney World® Resort part of the holiday means Orlando. There are, in addition to the world famous Disney attraction, many other Theme Parks, including Universal Orlando® Resort and SeaWorld® Orlando – the latter being excellent for younger kids. You’ll probably not need to spend much time exploring the surrounding area or the additional attractions in the vicinity of Orlando, but in addition to the make believe world of the Theme Parks, there is the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). Not far down the road from Orlando the KSC offers out of this world experiences which will fascinate all the kids in the family – including the very big ones. Cape Canaveral, iconic in the world of space travel, forms part of the Space Center. Although the shuttle programme no longer operates there are still real, live launches of unmanned rockets on a regular basis – check with the KSC to see if you can fit one in on your trip, because this really is an experience not to be missed.
Southern Stars
The road trip part of your holiday doesn’t need to be an epic. The drive should take about four to five hours but it’s worth taking a day to make the trip and stop off at least one diner along the way or perhaps spend an hour or two on some white, palm-fringed beaches. Miami glitters at the southernmost tip of the mainland US, presumably because it is beloved of the rich, famous and the stars of the big screen. It’s a grown up city and its boulevards are lined with not only palm trees and exotic plants but stunning mansions in the Art Deco style. The city is cosmopolitan, with large Cuban and Latin American populations, as well as sun seekers from across the States. Shopping experiences in Miami are usually of the boutique variety and the city offers just about every type of cuisine you could imagine. Despite the fact that you can feel the wealth tingling in the air, there are plenty of options for those of us who have star quality if not quite the budget to match.
Multi Centre Holidays USA style needn’t cost a Queen’s ransom and cheap holidays 2012 to Florida are still available. With its incredible climate and huge variety of accommodation and entertainment options is an ideal base for family holidays. With bargains to still be had for 2012 holidays Florida dreams may be easier to achieve than you might think.
