Domestic Animal Farm Finland
Kannisto Domestic Animal Farm is an interesting place of visit in South-Western Finland to spend a holiday with your family.
Kannisto Domestic Animal Farm is a genuine farm where natural field cultivation and early livestock rearing is practised. Kannisto is a popular place for farm tourism and camp schools. It is open around the year and suits perfectly for families.
The farm has plenty of domestic animals, for example lambs, goats, reindeer, pigs, cats, dogs, different birds (like a peacock) and a big bunny pen. There are about 15 different breeds of horses and ponies and they have a donkey as their friend! The cows are representing all the domestic breeds and are used to milking by hand. Many visitors also like to try milking, riding, horse driving and taking care of animals.
Kannisto’s home forest is a natural state area, where there are many wild animals. At the back border of the forest there is the rocky Leikkilinna Mountain. It is an ancient, pagan place of sacrifice and there are many giant tales about it. You can go to the Leikkilinna Mountain following the 1,5 kilometres long nature trail. By the nature trail there are lean-to’s (shelters made of wood) and fire places (for making fire).
