European Cities You Need to Visit
With holiday season upon us, many are looking to spend the remaining months of summer travelling away from home for a few days or weeks. Within Europe, there are so many amazing options for places to
visit. From cities by beautiful beaches to cities with bustling night life, there is something for everyone’s desires.
Mallorca is one of Europe’s hot spots. Not only does it have excellent food and night life, it also has quite a bit of natural beauty. Famously known for it’s outstanding golf courses and cycling trails, it has outdoor activities available for all. Situated right on the Mediterranean, Mallorca also offers a plethora of beaches, perfect for having a lay about and relaxing right by the sea.
Known for its vibrant and fun night life, Dublin is quite an enjoyable city to visit on holiday as well. For the best night life in the area, the Temple Bar region is where many of the bars and clubs are located. For more pubs that have a more local feel then journey towards Camden Street and South William Street, which will have far fewer tourists.
For a seemingly never ending supply of history, Athens is the perfect spot. At over 3,000 years old, it is undisputed as one of the world’s oldest cities. Must see places in Athens have to include the Acropolis, which is listed on the European Cultural Heritage List, which includes the Parthenon. Additionally, the Agora located in the center of the city and the National Archaeological Museum are also quite interesting spots to visit.
Prague has always been a city of mystique. Situated in the Czech Republic and once a former city hidden behind the Iron Curtain
during the Cold War years, it has an interesting history and culture of its own. The Old Town is one of the more popular areas in Prague, filled with plenty of people watching and historic sites and buildings, there is no surprise why it is such a great place to visit.
Lisbon is another quite beautiful city for any traveller to visit on holiday. Filled with a rich and vibrant maritime history, Lisbon has many museums and monuments to some of its most famous sailors and explorers. Lisbon is also quite lucky in that it is one of the few capital cities in Europe that has wonderful warm and sandy beaches right at its doorstep. Beaches like Meco and Troia are just minutes away from the downtown region, providing a holiday that has the best of both worlds.
Whilst planning for holiday travel, there are an abundance of fantastic cities within Europe to visit and explore. However, there are only a handful of must see locations that call many visitors to them each year. Everyone must plan a holiday to one of these must see cities whenever you have a chance.
