Hossegor and the Beaches

To the south west of France, very nearly at a corner lies Hossegor or more popularly known as Soorts-Hossegor in the continent. It lies to the north of Bayonne and Biarritz and for many years now has been a favorite destination for all those that love the sand and the surf. Hossegor and the beaches it offers have evolved into something more than just a backpacker’s destination. This beach resort is one of the classiest to be found anywhere on the planet and definitely tops the list for being one of the finest surfing destinations. Hossegor and its beaches draw thousands of tourists each year mainly for the surfing thrills that it provides them.

Of course it is not just surfing that will attract the tourist to Hossegor but also its thriving nightlife and other beach activities. During the peak season in July and August it is even possible to get a guided tour of Hossegor. The nearby harbor of Capbreton allows surfers to park their boats while they enjoy the adventure of surfing.

The most spectacular part of Hossegor definitely has to be its beaches. The long stretches of soft sandy beaches give a different pleasure even in just walking around them. Lifeguards survey these beaches most of the time. A large lake adds to the charms of Hossegor along with the Landes forest lying behind the town. Besides surfing, golfing is another popular activity followed in Hossegor. Well set-up shops provide all necessary equipments for both surfing and golfing.
