Ride the Wave In South West France

Oh hello surfer dudes! As we’ve all heard surfing can be some sort of an addiction when you begin. Now isn’t that a bad theory? Oh well, “to each his own,” and I know how much you surfer junkies enjoy a good wave like a kid loves ice cream.

I know, when you talk of France, immediately fashion and the Eiffel tower pops in mind but if you check it out, there are pretty good beaches that can be found in the South West of France specifically.

France as situated south of England on the west coast of Europe it gets a lot of good waves because of the low pressures that follow across the top part and further north of England. The west coast of France can be divided into three main surfing spots. Up north is Brittany, which caters to the more experience surfers because of its large waves and reef breaks. From Brittany down to La rochell is the Coast of Light or Cote de Lumiere which gives beginners a safer spot to ride the waves  due to the coastline. Literally the beaches stretch out for a hundred miles without any surfing distractions of coves and bays. These feature means that you get to have consistent surf wherever part you are. The best spots for a good swell are located in the south west coast in the area of Biarritz and Bordeaux.

So if you’re interested to join the band wagon of surfers off to the south west of France here’s a quick peek on some of the areas in SW, France that can give you a radical wave, Biarritz is still a popular surfing spot, as are beaches in Anglet, Biscarrosse, Hossegor Lacanau, Mimizan, Moliets and Soulac.

Finding the right surfing spot in the south west of France is not hard, you can actually virtually go anywhere and find some place that can fit to your skill level. Surely you will be amazed with how their beaches gives hype to their would-be surfers, not only popular with the locals, their beaches has also hosted a lot of surfing contests like the Rip Curl Pro and the Quicksilver Pro thus all the talk about how good the location is.
